Discerning God’s Battle Strategy

Life can be full of Battles, crises, and unexpected life events. It is not a matter of if but when they occur. Our instinctual fight or flight response to the unexpected events of life may not serve us well in accomplishing God’s will for our lives. Our personal experience and personality may lead us to respond in well-practiced patterns which may or may not have served us well in the past.
The Christian, however, has another option as demonstrated in the Biblical book of Joshua.
1. Set yourself apart to God(Joshua 3:5), wait on God Isaiah 40:31 and trust in the Lord Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Be at peace and remember 2Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has not given us a spirit] of fear ... Because you have this faith, I now remind you to stir up that inner fire which God gave you at your ordination
Let Christ rule in your mind 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.was
2. Throughout the book of Joshua when God’s people sought Him and waited on Him for His strategy they were successful, but when they did not, they failed to obtain the victory God intended for them. 1st at Ai and then with the Gibeonites who deceived Israel.

STRATEGIC WISDOM FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE

There are many scriptures that teach strategies and principles for Spiritual warfare throughout the Bible.

Understanding the Armor of God, exercising God's authority wisely and functioning according to the the Strategies of God are vital to winning the battles either large or small.

While all of God’s Word (provides wise counsel) I have found these places in the Bible provide strategic wisdom upon which winning the Warfare in the Spirit really depends.

1. Genesis 1-3 as it shows us God’s original plan and His redemptive promise.
2. The book of Joshua as it teaches foundational principles for every battle by obtaining and Obeying God’s Strategy
3. The Gospels where we see God’s plan of redemption and the authority of Christ, which He has given to us, as well as, the strategy of Jesus in seeking, knowing and doing the Fathers will in all things.
4. The book of Ephesians and Hebrews where we see all created powers and the powers of darkness are subject to the authority of Christ in us. For he has transformed us and it is who we are in Him that causes hell to tremble.
5.
Our part is to be fit for battle and ready in season and out. So that we may know and cooperate with God’s strategic battle plans.

“He said, “Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: ‘Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

My prayer for you and your family is found in 3 John 1:2 I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].

For then you will not be cut off nor your season cut short.

The Spirit of Accusation - A Fourth Watch Post

In Jerusalem there were those who stood upon the walls of the city to watch to see what was coming. They were the eyes and ears of the city when there was darkness. There were segments with the 4th watch being three hours before the dawn. Prophetically, those who took the 4th watch were preparers for the coming dawn for the city.

In this day and age, the Lord is asking prophets to prepare the body of Christ for the dawn of a new season by being the eyes and ears of the bride.  The body of Christ benefits from the gifting of the prophet/seer and we have a responsibility to hear their words and take them into account in our perceptions and decision making.

In my home church, and ministry network, we are blessed with several mature prophets who hear and see beyond the walls of our building and physical location. As an Apostolic ministry we partner with them and provide a platform for the voice of the Lord to go forth through them.

We will periodically be posting words from contributing authors who are trusted prophet/seers who have influence in and beyond our ministry. We will be sub-titling these posts as "A 4th Watch Post" to identify them clearly and will include a mini-bio of the authoring prophet/seer at the base of the post.

Following is the third post contributed as A 4th Watch Post. May it bring you life more abundantly to see beyond the walls!

In Him,

" I am impressed in my spirit that there is a spirit of accusation in our nation and in God's people. Do not be deceived my friends.  We are not to be a part of this deceptive spirit which comes to us as righteous judgement but in truth is a deception with the temptation toward self- righteousness and pride. Our judgement has been shaded by our culture’s lies and victim-hood teaching. Do not blame others for your circumstances, either specifically or as a people group. Stop participating in the accuser’s spirit and ways. The work of the deceiver to kill, steal and destroy God's work in our nation has been at work since our founding; teaching lies about our nation, our faith and God's design for our lives and attitudes toward one another.  Let God shine His light of truth into your heart. He is your deliverer and hope. (THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN in Rev 12:7-12)".

Faith in God’s Goodness

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.     NIV

If I were to ask you what’s the most important thing – what’s the thing that’s essential if you are to lead a life that’s pleasing to God, I wonder how you’d answer.

Would you perhaps say: being religious, going to church, giving money to charity, keeping the Golden Rule, abstaining from sins, from immorality, from drunkenness, from things like that? All those things may be good, but none of them is the one essential thing for pleasing God. The one thing that God requires in all of us, the one thing without which we cannot please Him, is faith. And that faith is expressed in two ways.

First of all, we must believe that God exists. Most of us, I suppose, in our hearts, really are aware of that. But beyond that, we have to believe that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. You see, faith is, ultimately, faith in the goodness of God – in His reliability, in His dependability – and without that faith in God’s goodness we cannot please Him. It begins with believing in God and in His goodness. That is the root and the source of all true success and the life that pleases God.
